Event Report
The Department of Adult Health Nursing organised World Blood Donor Day with the theme “One Drop of Humanity – Give Blood, Save Lives.” The programme aimed to create awareness of voluntary blood donation and its role in saving lives. Students participated, donated blood, and learned about maintaining an adequate blood supply for emergency and healthcare needs.
Objectives
The programme aimed to promote voluntary blood donation, explain its importance and benefits, encourage social responsibility and humanitarian service, dispel myths and misconceptions, and motivate students to become regular donors.
Outcomes
Students’ knowledge of blood donation and its life-saving impact increased. Many donated voluntarily and expressed a positive attitude towards regular donation. The event strengthened social commitment and the spirit of helping others.
Sustainable Development Goal
The programme contributes to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by supporting access to safe blood and encouraging community participation.
