Quiz Competition on “Electoral Literacy

Event Report

The Student Welfare Committee, BGS Institute of Nursing Sciences, Sasyakashi, organized a Quiz Competition on “Electoral Literacy – My Vote, My Right, My Responsibility” on 13th August 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall. A total of 28 B.Sc. Nursing students participated in 14 groups from the 2nd, 4th and 6th semesters. The competition was conducted in three rounds covering voting rights, electoral procedures, voter awareness, Election Commission of India, EVM and VVPAT, electoral rolls, constitutional provisions and democratic values. The programme aimed to enhance electoral awareness, critical thinking, decision-making and responsible citizenship among nursing students. Participants actively engaged in the quiz and demonstrated their knowledge and understanding of the electoral process. The activity promoted teamwork, communication, leadership and healthy competitive spirit among students. The programme supported SDG 4, SDG 5, SDG 10 and SDG 16 by promoting quality education, equality, inclusive participation and strong democratic institutions. The top three teams were declared winners based on their overall scores and were felicitated with prizes. Overall, the programme enhanced electoral literacy, encouraged informed voting behaviour and motivated students to spread awareness about democratic participation among their peers, families and communities.
