Event Report

The Faculty of Nursing organised an awareness programme featuring an informative session, a live-streamed state-level awareness programme, and educational pamphlets. The event concluded with a Drug-Free Oath, encouraging students to adopt healthy lifestyles and contribute to a drug-free society.

Objectives

The programme aimed to explain the physical, psychological, social, and legal consequences of drug abuse and illicit trafficking; promote prevention and early intervention; strengthen future healthcare professionals’ role in prevention; and inspire advocacy for drug-free lifestyles.

Outcomes

Students improved their understanding of the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention and rehabilitation. Participants developed a stronger sense of social responsibility and pledged to remain drug-free while promoting awareness.

Sustainable Development Goal

The programme aligns with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being, particularly Target 3.5 on strengthening the prevention and treatment of substance abuse.
