Event Report
BGS Institute of Nursing Sciences organised an institutional Essay Writing Competition for B.Sc. Nursing students across multiple academic cohorts. The event provided a formal platform to articulate perspectives on contemporary healthcare themes, ethical medical practices, and the evolving responsibilities of nursing in global health. Students blended clinical knowledge with critical analytical writing and presented well-structured narratives.
Objectives
The competition aimed to foster critical thinking and independent research, refine the academic communication skills essential for documentation and evidence-based clinical practice, and encourage future healthcare professionals to voice structured ideas on medical ethics, holistic patient care, and community health interventions.
Outcomes
Participants produced detailed, evidence-backed essays demonstrating analytical depth. Faculty evaluators observed improvement in constructing cohesive academic arguments and integrating relevant health statistics. The event also built confidence to contribute to healthcare discourse, research publication, and scientific writing.
